Hello all,

I have 145K in QFF and 100K in Amex.
Leave as is - and do 2 short o/s trips (2ppl) or dump the Amex to QFF and do a big one.

I know compare to some of you guys it's only a very small amount but it took a while to scrape it together. :D

Thank you in advance.

Do some quick calculations and compare whether it is worth dumping the 100k in QFF. 245k in QFF will get you 2 Zone 8 (16.8k mile long) Oneworld Awards in economy, or almost 2 Zone 9 (9.6k mile * 2) return trips. Most of Australia is Zone 10 to Europe, except for Darwin, Cairns, etc. 145k in QFF on its own will get you 1 Zone 10 (35k miles) Oneworld Award. The 100k MR could be converted to 75k in Cathay Pacific, or 100k in Singapore Airlines Krisflyer. There is a 25% off special till end of Sept on Krisflyer.

See some of the other threads in this forum to help you.

You may find that transferring the points to Singapore Airlines Krisflyer or Cathay Pacific Asia Miles is more worthwhile. It may depend on:

  • what you want
  • what frequent flyer status you have
  • how much cash you want to spend on taxes
  • when you want to travel
  • other things (which I haven't mentioned here)

Thanks for your info. So much to research - so little time.
You are right - I am going to leave those points as they are. More options to transfer points from Amex than I originally thought.

Thanks again.
