Hi,
My Velocity account is a Beneficiary account and my wife its a Contributor in a Family Pool. I am Siler Status and have recently retired. My wife is working and travels a lot. She needs the Silver Benefits and I do not. I want to transfer the Silver Status to her. I understand that she can become the Beneficiary and I can become the Contributor for all earnings from now on, but wish to get her the Silver Status now and am happy to transfer this to her if possible. Any tips on this please?

TIA

Can’t be done sorry.

Status belongs to the person flying and who earns the status credits..

Only way you can earn VFF SC, outside of VFF, is to buy as much of your groceries from Coles as you can, making sure you put in your FB (Flybuys #) all the time you shop at Coles group of companies, ie Coles Express, Liquorland, etc, and then in your VFF account, put it to her as beneficiary, and you as contributor.
She will still earn VFF SC from the flying side of things, but she will also then have the benefit of more SC from your family buying as much from Coles group as you can.
She might even make it to VFF SG from it, about 500 VFF SC a year.
As mentioned above, you can't give or endow her VFF PS straight off, only the SC.
Sorry for the codes.

Thanks AustraliaPoochie, suspected that was the case and have made the change to the Family Pooling so we will get the Flybuys benefits from hereon forth.
Cheers

No, it is not possible to get 500 status credits from flybuys.

The most status credits you can get from Coles via flybuys is 120 per year. Maximum of 10 status credits per month if you spend $1000 at coles, liquorland or first choice. 1 status credit per $100.

You can have separate unlinked FB accounts crediting to separate velocity accounts with one velocity account pooling points and SC's to another.

This increases the maximum per annum to 240 SC's, but would require at least $24000 pa of expenditure.

Of course, true. Expensive but true.

Still I got 30 status credits for $188.70 on friday with a 2 hour flight.

But with family pooling you can get multiple lots of 120 SCs (and there have been double SC months with flybuys previously too).
The Flybuys age limit of 16 is an issue.
Currently mstrandye2 is 17 so we could get 360+ SCs a year to one account.
It's a pretty hefty spend at Coles/Liquorland to do so though

Ok, I was wrong. A family pool can have 6 members, 2 adults and 4 children. So the max status credits per year from flybuys is 600 if you have 1 adult and 4 17 year olds donating to the beneficiary, at a cost of $60,000. with a couple of months of double flybuys status that might come down to $54000.
so $4500 per month at coles. I reckon anyone dropping that amount of coin on coles would be better off shopping at costco, or going direct to a distributor. Then buying flights with the money saved.

Anyway the cost of coles status is prohibitive IMO, and no one should seriously consider it an option to achieve a gold status. Again IMO.

They said they could get 480 with the Japan flights, parents and kids, (alone outside of FB), add FB SC and VFF SG is not hard.

One roundtrip SYD-Rarotonga for under $1000 locks in Gold.

DARN site smarter than spending a year wages at Coles.

Strictly speaking ;)-
Only if you want to go to Rarotonga and/or
You don't want what you end up buying in Coles

(Still need to do the Eligible Sectors too)
