It remains to be seen if this gloomy weather prognosis will be correct:
Heavy fog descends on Melbourne
The fog has descended around Melbourne Airport, so it seems.
VA246 from ADL to MEL is showing as 'diverted' (VH-ZPA) and looks to be almost at CBR as is VA882, the 2035 arrival ex SYD as is the earlier VA242 from ADL normally due into MEL at 2055.
TT279 from SYD to MEL and TT279 ex ADL have been cancelled while QF487 from SYD is 65 minutes late and due into MEL at 2240. VA694 ex PER appears to be flying west now but south of ADL.
QF459 from SYD to MEL (1935 hours arrival) was cancelled as was QF631 ex BNE.
QF10 ex LHR and DXB seems to have been diverted to ADL but according to the QF wbesite, it only spent 11 minutes in ADL - which if true must be some sort of record if it in fact landed - and is due in MEL 130 minutes late at 2305, the operating aircraft being VH-OQI.
A great night to be an hotelier (accommodation not merely a bar) but not good for travellers if it continues tomorrow.
