Being reported that storms are causing a few problems in Japan. I had received these photos from a mate who is over there. Being young blokes they decided to try a capsule hotel!

They'd have been lucky to get any hotel space if it wasn't prebooked a while ago. Rooms in Tokyo tend to book out very quickly when a weather event is coming through. Office workers book out the rooms so they are closer to work the next morning in case the trains aren't running.

All ended well for them. They were on SQ11 that arrived into Japan on time & their 2hr transit in Singapore was OK.
Pretty sad to read about the deadly avalanche up in the slopes

The family-of-six caught Tokyo trains and the monorail to the airport and were shocked by the sardine factor.

"It was pretty hectic," he told AAP.

"So many people were shoving on to the trains."

lol. That sounds like a normal peak Tokyo train.
