The operators of the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen bullet trains have released an outline of the new private compartments they will introduce on some trains in October.
Central Japan Railway Company, also known as JR Central, and West Japan Railway Company, or JR West, on Wednesday announced the new accommodations, including availability and fares.
The companies say that, for those using the free online reservation service, a single-occupancy room for a one-way trip between Tokyo and Nagoya will cost 32,660 yen, or about 200 dollars, for an adult.
