I notice many AFF members are partial to the odd drop of the good doings just as I am - so is there room for a dedicated thread on AFF regarding current offers for quality / cheap alcohol deals?

Certainly not suggesting promoting of any associated business but from time to time there are good deals about. I am kinda primarily thinking Australian based offers - but certainly Duty Free deals should also be publicized.

Here is one I came across during the week - https://www.vinomofo.com/deals/mof_...f-Vinomofo_Daily_Email_031012&utm_medium=emai - the Champagne in question is indeed Moet and Chandon 2002 - I purchased 6 bottle case on the 3rd and received it on the 5th - looks really well priced to me.

Wow, that's an excellent price. Have you popped a bottle to test quality?

Beware grey market Champagnes. Usually failed Asian export orders, sit in coughpy storage for a few months over there then shipped over here and sold a lot cheaper than the norm....

Moët et Chandon is around $55 a bottle at our local and discount for 6 bottles. We visited their cellars in Epernay France this July. Sampled the vintage. My favourite currently. Epernay is a beautiful place and the cellar tour was fascinating. I have a new respect for their product.

Thank you tehuringa for your advice - I heeded it - Cruiserette and I currently sitting upstairs watching over Port Phillip Bay sampling a second bottle of the 2002 Moet - this one tastes better than the first - but i felt compelled to check it again.

Funny thing is this is the second time i heard that this week - first time was by Manager at Dan Murphys when I was in there Thursday night attempting to get them to 'price match' this 2002 Moet purchase - unfortunately he would not match in this instance.

FTR - http://danmurphys.com.au/help/price-guarantee-content

This is the big + in relation to discounts offered by others - no problemo with Dan's quality - have used this 'price match' numerous times.

Dan Murphys currently have Lanson Gold Label 2002 available sub $50 box of 6 - think I'll have me a slice of that.

Who was the AFF member who was singing the praises of Ayala Champers in another thread? I received this offer yesterday from Winegrowers Direct - they are based in Richmond VIC:

http://wines.winegrowersdirect.net/...91172&Token=23A3193C769FFF2F026246DD47D5FB8F4

They had another offer out a coupla months back for 2 x Moet for $69 - limit 2 botts/customer - they were swamped with orders and could not eventually supply. I used 6 diff credit cards to order 12 botts - received 4 only in total - got full refund for orders not fullfilled and they threw in a doz of Whip Cracker Shiraz for goodwill.

I actually called them up this morn and ordered 3 x 2 botts Ayala = 6 botts total $237 - I told them the $27 freight quoted online too high so they will ship for free.

And remember we are fast approaching cup week in MEL - best time of year to get deals on champers - every retailer worth their salt will have specials running - Dans in particular.

Don't forget Dans 'Lowest Price Guarantee' - if you find cheaper price from bricks and mortar competitor within 10kms of a Dans store - Dans will BEAT the price.

Awesome, thanks Cruiser. Did it require much discussion regarding the shipping? Thinking it's a bit steep for even two bottles (maybe I'm stingy).

Don't order online - call their 1 300 number and ask for Matthew - I think it should not be a problem.

Great thanks again Cruiser. Will give it a go.

On a slightly related note, anyone have suggestions for some sweeter wines? Recently been introduced to Some Young Punks Riesling which is quite nice, but always looking for new things to try :)
