Time for QANTAS systems to recognise new FF tier?

Did some searching but couldn't find an answer to this, so hoping someone can help me out:

After you earn enough SCs to achieve a new tier in the QFF program (Silver -> Gold, Gold -> Plat, etc), how long does it take for their systems to pick this up and reflect your new tier? Is it instant?

Note I'm not talking about how long it takes for your new pack / card to arrive (seems to be 3-4 weeks from what I've read, on average), but rather how long until QANTAS's own systems recognise the change, show the new tier in your QFF Account Summary page, print it on BPs, etc.

From my personal experience the my QFF Summary and BPs changed as soon as the qualifying SCs posted on my activity statement.

Same here. But when I checked in, they haven't updated the status on the booking system. I need to show them on my iPhone to convince the ground staff so I can have extra luggage allowance I entitled on the new status.Held up the check-in queue!

When I moved from Gold -> Platinum in October last year, it changed as soon as* the SC's had been credited.

* Note: I don't log into my account every day, so it may have taken anywhere between 1 - 5 days.
 
Yep, as commented, Qantas *should* update your current bookings, but doesn't always. Not sure why. Phoning up, gettting your FF number removed and re-added should resolve that.

Other airlines may be problematic too. In particular CX and AA who use different booking systems to QF. But should be easy to resolve with a phonecall.
 
this was in another thread .... The Loyalty system will be updated as soon as the SC are posted ... this then kicks off new cards / bag tags etc . you will find a delay with partner airlines , as this is a batch job sent ( depending on airline could be monthly ) to update the top teir flyers .


Any existing bookings will have your old details and will not be updated. easy way to fix is remove your FFN and re add details.

Thanks for this extra tip (and to the others who posted it) - sounds like ringing up and removing / re-adding your QF number to any existing bookings after a status change is a good rule-of-thumb.
 
From memory , the BA are on Amadeus and also uses the 1A customer profile system the same as Qantas , so should happen at the same time . CX are on another system , and I think the file is sent every 2 weeks .

I flew QF SIN-BNE overnight on Thu 12 May, on which I qualified as WP. But it took a few days for the flight & SCs to post, so my next flight, BNE-LAX on Sat 14 May and AA LAX-SMF on 14/5 had BPs with SG status. QF corrected the points for my flights after my WP qualifying credits came through. Interestingly, my WP status was definitely visible on QF on Thu 19/5 when I flew home. AA BP was still showing SG/ One World Sapphire for SMF-LAX, even though QF BP definitely showed WP/OWE. Didn't make much diference to that flight, given the single AA gate a SMF & no priority line for security. ;)
