Am I the only one........

Am I the only one who is totally confused by Tiger?

I have flown Tiger out of SIN a dozen times - I could not fault their operations at all - yes I can tolerate the budget terminal and yes I can tolerate the FA's asking me nicely to not eat outside food on their flights.

I have flown Tiger out of Melbourne once - NEVER EVER again - I will walk instead.

How can they be so different?

I am 100% serious my friend - have been asked more than once - have never complied - just smile and ask do they stock what I am eating - then resume eating - it is announced on all flights I have been on so I assume it is standard policy.

AS I said I have flown them many times out of SIN would gladly hop on one of their planes any time.

<Insert deity of your choice here> help me but I'm flying Tiger for the first time in two week's time.

My wife made a last minute decision to bring the kids down on Friday so we can take them to the Airshow on the Friday afternoon/evening, and then we're heading back Saturday morning.

Due to the late booking, and limited flights in and out of Avalon, Tiger were the only choice that were even close to affordable. I'll already be down there working the show, I just hope their flight actually departs and gets them there ...

And then we're all flying back together Saturday morning, at least I saved the company some money ...

I've flown Tiger a few times domestically, no major issues. Service was alright, seats a bit cramped but I'm 6'3" so not out of the ordinary, flights left within 30mins of scheduled time. Never paid more than $40 for a flight.

Maybe I'm just lucky.

when this thread was being posted I was talking to the FIL of a TT pilot.They apparently do have an additional 3 aircraft leased which are operating OS-presumably on Singapore Tiger routes.Said to be QLD problems which are preventing them coming in now as plan was to ramp up QLD service.Fits in with this article-

Interesting - they had (maybe still have) a shortage of pilots in Singapore which was causing a large number of cancellations last year. Maybe you were lucky to avoid that!

Makes perfect sense to me, most customers dont give a company a second chance so you need to find a new market!

Still doesn't make sense to me.

Wouldn't they potentially be targetting the same customers unless Tiger believes that New Zealanders are going to be keeping the route going.

Don't these companies realise that news travels fast these days and your reputation follows you everywhere you go?
