Tiger Airways has too many delayed flights - Why?

Actually I don't really care, I just want to know how to arrive at the airport on time without wasting 3-4 hours of my life in T4 pigpen.

A better question might be why and who do we blame? Given they stuffed both logistics and risk analysis, flunked scheduling and the biggie - communication.

Tiger Airways Delay Disaster at Terminal 4 Melbourne

Also, Does anyone know why on Monday 1st November why what appears to be most Tiger Flights were running 3+ hours delayed?

That was the rainy weekend before Melbourne cup day.

I flew MEL->CBR on TT5902 - but Brissy and Darwin pax & other destinations were also given the pineapple up the A treatment as far as springing more drip-feed delays when the actual boarding did not eventuate. Just looked at today's departures, and more QLD'ers are getting the pineapple treatment.

Once again Tigers ability to tell passenger the truth about delays was replaced with a charade of updating the boards every hour to say they have been delayed another hour, instead of a proper estimate.

Factually, the plane was due to depart at 17:10. From 10am to 4pm those who phoned were told the flight may be 2 hours delayed. Boarding started 20:40.

But when I printed my 'Self Checkin' pass at 12'ish is said be there on time. Being Tiger I decided to be on time with a pre-packed dinner.

Tiger announced the 'apoligise' for the delay, but asking WHY got no responses. Providing reasons is always the right thing to do.

I'll post another Tiger Simply the worst airline about their new 'self checkin' elsewhere.

Best T4 Delay info I could find was here:

Their business model, basically. Minimal staff, minimal overheads, means that when things go wrong there's no slack in the system and they REALLY go wrong.

LCC - get what you pay for :)

The reason why has been covered by samh004 & opusman.

Don't fly Tiger.

Blame the people who continue to fly with them and in doing so accept the appalling service. If people started to boycott them they would have to improve things or go out of business.

You get what you pay for. ie pay peanuts and get treated like monkeys. (my apologies to any monkeys reading this :!:)

Sorry - but knowing all this about flying with Tiger doesn't a Tiger passenger only have themselves to blame?

CEO Tony Davis is to Blame?

I accept a charter airline like Tiger Airways will have issues. Being prepared - you can work around other incompetent acts. But plane delayed information is what I need - nor will the counter droids tell me.

I pack a laptop and 2 sets of batteries - 8 hours and got through a full wine bottle that was consumed before boarding :) Have not been game to order pizza's delivered to departure lounge again.

What the Hell is going on, and why are the Australian newspapers retarded in printing 'Tiger Delayed' articles - although SMH did print something on extortionate baggage charges. No excuse for Jetstar not running full page comparison ads while Tiger is having troubles...

Tiger Airways - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediamentions a move to cut wages in Mid 2010 left them short.
Minimal people accept minimal wages, good people cost a little bit more, and reliable ones - a tad more. The quote paying monkeys peanuts is spot on.

I think they are in Thrashing mode. A letter to the Minister to aviation is in order asking him to a press release announcing Tigers real on-time performance for multiple airports. That may influence future bookings and quality issues.
