Noticed today on Tiger website (no news reports I can link too, sorry) that Tiger are now selling flight from Avalon - Gold Coast. Also noticed they have quietly dropped MEL-ROK services (not sure when, may have missed that), so I am sure a few passengers are going to get stuffed around by that.

MEL-ROK ended at the end of march, and bookings did not open for March onwards so no pax we affected it seems.

Doubt ADL-HBA will return after October too.

LCCs have no market loyalty, If they dont get the results they want and the backend support from local councils /airports end ,they simply pull up stumps. There have been many examples like MELDRW (now back for the high season but beware booking a seat next Feb!) ADLASP. Jetstar stopped direct PPP&HVB from SYD plus more.
And yes much hype about entering a market and how wonderful they are but the exit with a wimper hoping no-one will notice.
Of interest will be the DJ Route review and what happens there.

There aren't any TT flights scheduled after October 31st from HBA and it seems from LST either (or ROK, DRW, ASP etc)

Called them up about it, but the person had no clue as to whether they were suspending the route, or a case of flights not being loaded into the system yet - the major routes have flights scheduled into next year though!

Update! Tiger has added flights to Hobart (and Launceston) through until March 2011 - although very slim pickings IMHO.

So far though Sunstar320 is still correct. Those flights are only from MEL-HBA vv, so I'm guessing ADL-HBA vv either hasn't been loaded yet, or will be dropped altogether.

I'm glad that at least Tiger will still be flying MEL-HBA vv - more competition!

A new pop-up on the TT website when looking at SYD flights:

Please note:
Alice Springs, Mackay, Rockhampton, and Sydney routes will be operated to/from MELBOURNE-AVALON from 10 November 2010.

Along with a new code ZZM - for searching MEL&AVV. So looks like Melbourne routes will be as follows:
MEL only: BNE, CBR, CNS, HBA, LST
AVV only: ASP, MKY, ROK, SYD
AVV & MEL: ADL, OOL, PER

I'm sure this will provide a lot more material for the Channel 7 program.

MEL-SYD is still operating from Tullamarine with 5 Daily it appears and 2 from Avv.

and MEL-ROK seems to be appearing in Sep/Oct before moving to Avalon
