TI that excludes medical?

It is the repatriation costs that are of concern to me. I have read through a couple of Product Disclosure Statements since this thread was started and have come to realise that, because of various pre-existing conditions, cover for me is likely to be very limited.

I think that from now on, I will have to keep substantial liquid funds available in case a person who has Power of Attorney for me has to arrange repatriation.

The question then arises: How much? Would $350 - $500k be enough for (say) a week in hospital and then a medivac flight home?

I would like to take out insurance to cover accidents and the very few illnesses that an insurer would not refuse to cover because of my pre-existings. I'm looking around to find such a cover because just about anything else would subsidise the insurer because of exclusions. (I have noted that with most of the products the price of the premium doesn't seem to drop however much cover is limited  ) Does anyone know of or use a policy which only covers accidental events? I suppose I could always rely on my card insurance for this level of cover?
