I claimed a rental from Thrifty the other day but Thrifty told me the rental was not eligible to earn Velocity as only bookings made directly on Thrifty website and call centres are eligible. Is this correct?

I didn't know rental car companies had gone down the road of hotel chains. Did you guys have any trouble getting points for Thrifty rentals booked via travel agents such as Expedia?
