Yes, ....................................

As per the title"Thoughts on QF PE BNE-LAX-JFK return for $3500 "
- do people think this is a good fare?

Thanks for your thoughts.

It's not ridiculous. I've seen QF ask for $3200 for MEL-LAX-ORD return in Y, so $3500 for PE doesn't sound bad.

Have you checked all available flights and other carriers?

Yes I have had a bit of a look around - but will be traveling with an infant so would like to keep the travel as simple as possible and use my status for lounge access etc.

I don't mind paying slightly more to travel QF but not thousands more.....

This question seems quite relative to your own personal circumstances so is difficult for others to tell you if it is a good fare or not. Everyone has different constraints whether it be time/budget/class/etc.

For me personally I'd prefer to travel in J via HKG on CX via a points redemption. But as always YMMV.

Do some research to see what else is available and make an informed decision fitting your circumstances.

Agree via HKG is a great way to go and on CX, bit longer trip for BNE travellers but there is a Disneyland in HKG and can miss LAX too, plus could stop over in YVR as well.

Disneyland in Hong Kong, that's a great idea! I've been thinking we would always have to go direct BNE-LAX and cough up on Qantas to avoid the long travel with kids, but Disneyland in Hong Kong sounds great! Thanks!

For a paid fare, yes.

I purchased BNE-LAX in Y+ @ $3k and thought it was a good deal (about 2-3 years ago).

Its near the Airport at Lantau so short train journey on resort line.

If staying in HKG get MTR train tickets at airport on arrival, these can also bemused on ferries like across harbour (15mins), what you don't use is refunded on departure! (at in town check in). Reasonable accom. is the Salisbury in Kowloon near waterfront or Regal Airport Hotel. Your wife would love the market shopping too.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up booking - this fare suited my circumstances and looks to be at the top end of the PE offerings.

That's awesome, I'm excited about this idea. Thanks for that tip!

Correct - QF PE is ahead of the comp on this route and you got a great price - well done!
