I have very fond memories of the many, many bookings made through Thomas Cook and the Thomas Cook package holidays I enjoyed in the early nineties. I thought I would share details of my first international trip in 1989. See attached. It was a lot of money for a university student at the time. Probably not much more expensive now.

Mine was stashes of Thomas Cook travellers cheques which I carried in a neck wallet my mom had especially made for my backpacking trip around Europe...

My main memory of Thomas Cook was carrying around a rail timetable book.Things certainly change
I remember when I had a Britrail pass in 1982 you could get the full timetable in two volumes about half the size of the old phone books. I carried them around for months- WTF

Interesting prices mtbsafari!

Reasoning BBC coverage there are stories from passengers who have been booking with Thomas Cook since the 90s, doing a couple packages every year. Perhaps a little unfair to blame them for continuing to book TC rather than do it themselves, as many of us would do now.
