Did you know that this is AFF’s 20th year!!
From humble beginnings in my garage* in 1998 , we have grown to what we are now – Australia’s leading frequent flyer community and travel website – with tens of thousands of active members and over 1.6 million posts. There are not many privately owned websites, still owned by the original founder and managed by pretty much the same management team, that can make this claim!
Unfortunately, I can’t recall the specific date we went online for the first time, but it would have been sometime in September 1998. The earliest archive I could find is from 10 November that year. If you are interested in how AFF looked back then, take a look HERE.
AFF looks very different now…
… and we have some more changes planned for this, our 20th year.
Details will be announced in due course, but we have started preparing by making relatively minor changes. You may have noticed that we’ve made some changes to user titles and introduced a few new levels. We have also moved some forums around. Nothing too drastic, but I just wanted to give you all a heads-up.
Watch this space
PS. In addition to the website changes, we are also planning some birthday celebrations next year. Again, watch this space.
* Actually, to be 100% truthful, it wasn’t a garage, but a spare table in my lounge room. I didn’t have a garage at that time.
