Well, it was not really on the runaway as the news.com.au headline states. In fact, the aircraft was not still taxiing as the report also claims. But still a very daring robbery.

At least five robbers crashed through a boarding gate, entered the Scandanavian Airlines jet, which had just arrived from London, and held up luggage handlers as they unloaded crates of foreign currency.
 
Taking their cues from Hollywood I suspect. The Academy Awards must have inspired them.
