Thieves rob plane on runway

Well, it was not really on the runaway as the news.com.au headline states. In fact, the aircraft was not still taxiing as the report also claims. But still a very daring robbery.

MASKED gunmen armed with assault rifles have stolen crates of money from a taxiing aircraft and threatened passengers and authorities with what is thought to be a bomb.

At least five robbers crashed through a boarding gate, entered the Scandanavian Airlines jet, which had just arrived from London, and held up luggage handlers as they unloaded crates of foreign currency.

Taking their cues from Hollywood I suspect. The Academy Awards must have inspired them.
