Given the growing number of dram-lovers being both AFF members and members of The Whisky Club, it probably makes sens to have a thread here discussing the monthly whisky deals through the club.

For reference, there is a member referral thread here: Whisky Club Referral.
Please keep any referrals to that thread.

This month (October 2020), the club's Whisky of the Month is the Bushmills 2006 Marsala Cask. Who is taking it, doubling-up and taking any of the opt-in options this month? I am not a real fan of the regular retail Bushmills whisky found at the local retailers, but this one does sound interesting and very tempting. And in many years as a Whisky Club member, I have not been disappointed with the exclusive, unique, rare or uncommon offerings. So I expect to take this one.

And while the Bladnoch opt-in looks to be amazing, it is outside my budget for this month.

From last month, I am really enjoying the anCnoc 2007, and the GlenDronach is almost finished (having hosted some friends from out-of-town last week :) ).

Interested in other's opinions of the recent drams on offer.

Yes, as per the link in the opening post in this thread and instruction to keep referrals to that thread.

This thread is for discussion about the whiskys available through The Whisky Club. This month being the Bushmills 2006 Marsala Cask and various opt-in offers.

For anyone that missed out on the Bladnoch 2006 Select Cask released this month, there's some available on the website now. Also showing some Lark Head Distiller's Release from June.

Edit: and the Lark Head Distiller's Release Second Edition from July is also back in stock.

Been watching the site daily to see if I can get my hands on the Hellyers Road release from earlier in the year, but have not yet had the chance to nab it. Seen nearly everything else from this year come up repeatedly though.

Looking forward to grabbing an Advent Calendar as recently advertised. I've been looking at the whisky sold by 'That Boutique-y Whisky Company' for a long time, but they can often be far too much to seriously consider!

The Hellyers Road 16 Year Old Single Cask is available for add-in now ... for $290. A bit rich for me.

If ever you see the Lagavulin Offerman Edition from November 2019 available, please let me know.

That was the extra for that month I presume, I'm more interested in the ~115 variant that was released that month. The other day I turned up to the site just a little too late to see it was already in waitlist, so it's now a daily ritual, sort of like AFF.

Noted, will keep an eye out.

Yes, I guess that was the case. The Hellyers Road that as the Whisky of the Month was very nice. I didn't realise there was regular updates to availability of previous drams. I had assumed that once the allocation was gone there would not be any more. So I will need to update my "routine" as well.

I was on the waitlist for the Lark's Head Distillers release, but it seems to have gone now. I purchased the Lark's Head Christmas edition from their site though, anyone tried it? I'm wrapping it up from Santa.
Looking forward to the advent calendar, do they do this every year and what's it generally like? (bedsides being amazing as it's whiskey, not chocolate)

There's also a special Lark (I think third for the year) Symphony Nº1. Not a bad price as an extra at $120.

Who's joining me with this month's Glen Scotia?
I was awake at 11 and could have ordered the lot, but it wasn't as exciting as last months for example. That said, I have gone for the Glen Scotia but I fear next year I'm going to have to cut back as I'm starting to run out of space in my bar cart :p

I've opted out of this one, we have a huge stockpile of goodies to drink and it didn't excite me like previous offers.

That is much how I felt, hence why I didn't get any extras.

Probably need to curb my buying next year otherwise I'll need to throw a huge AFF party to drink it all.

I said I needed to cut back, but here's a preview of January.

Making life hard, the add-in is a Westward Whiskey Pinot Noir Single Barrel Cask Strength.

Westward’s Head Distiller Miles Munroe has turned our Pinot Noir Finish up to 11 with a very special single barrel, cask strength version of the legendary Whisky Club release, finished for 19 months in French oak Pinot Noir barrels from Dominio IV Wines.

Miles painstakingly selected the four most exceptional barrels to create a truly unique single barrel whiskey experience, just for the Club. Each barrel’s been bottled without colouring or chill filtration at 62.5% ABV, and is packed with layers of candied orange, cherries, nuts, tobacco, chocolate and toffee… The more you sip, the more you’ll find.
