We stayed for 3 nights in a Suite with Club access over the Easter break. We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin and will be back here for our next stay in Perth. The hotel is only 1 year old and the hotel still looks fresh and new.

This is my first in a series of stays as part of a Marriott Platinum challenge. As a Bonvoy member, we were provided with a large fruit bowl on the first day.

The pool

We didn’t use the pool as it was too cold during our stay. There is also a gym with a good range of equipment. The gym was busy during our visit so I couldn’t take any photos.

The Club

Club access provides you with breakfast in the morning and drinks/canapes selection in the evening. Of the 3 mornings at the hotel, the Club was only open for 1 of them and breakfast was provided in the main restaurant, Garum, on the other 2 mornings. The breakfast offering at the Club was quite substantial and more than adequate to satisfy your hunger. It was a condensed version of the main breakfast with about 75% of the main breakfast offering. The coffee machine was okay and I preferred the in room espresso machine. We also visited the Club on two evenings to check out the drinks/canapes. The Club was quite busy on both evenings so I couldn’t take any photos. Again, the food on offer was quite substantial and you could easily have an ample dinner. The offerings included cold meats and salmon, cheeses, bread, nuts, olives, salads, cut vegetables, dips. Each evening also had a different hot food offering:- chicken kaarage and rice, pork roast and apple sauce, spicy chicken wings and fried cheese cubes. We made ourselves dinner with the roast pork, which was delicious, and a variety of cold cuts and cheeses.

Garum – breakfast

We had breakfast 2 mornings of our stay in Garum as the Club was closed those mornings (no extra charge). Garum has a slightly broader range if going for the full buffet, eggs and coffee to order as well as a breakfast menu if you don’t want the buffet.

Garum – dinner

We also had dinner at Garum on one evening. Garum is an Italian restaurant operated by Guy Grossi. The menu comprises pastas, meats and vegetables (no pizza) and is definitely a higher price point. We ordered the porchetta and bistecca and enjoyed them both immensely. They also can modify the menu to provide some kid friendly alternatives (pastas, chicken schnitzel, fish and chips).

Great stay report. Very informative both in photos and comments. Looking forward to seeing future hotel reports, given my interest as a Marriott Lifetime Gold.
