Yeah, just call and see what they can offer over the phone.I'm still getting used to travelling with Virgin internationally so I'd appreciate your help.
I know that multi-city reward bookings require a phone call. I will be ringing tomorrow to ask if it's possible for them to ticket MEL-DOH-CDG in J for me. (The seats are there, if you are flying ex SYD, PER, or ADL all of which go through MEL. None for me wanting to depart from MEL. There are also seats available if only flying MEL-DOH.) The first leg is VA (QR) and the second QR.
If they can't, I'm left with the option of
1) Shlepping over to ADL, stay then night, then take the flight to DOB via MEL
2) Book MEL-DOH and then DOH-CDG seperately.
I'm inclined to do the latter. I did this once before (the only time I've flown VA internationally, it was also VA + QR) and they checked me in for both flights on departure and checked my bags through. But I'm concerned if my first leg is late that they won't honour the second because they aren't the same ticket - is that the case?
Looks like married segments ex MEL… they’ll sell you the seat from anywhere *but* MEL
They might still be able to get MEL-DOH-CDG all on the one ticket… if they can’t do the immediate connection, ask about a later flight? (ie longer transit in DOH).
