First the song, so you will have it in your head for the rest of the day :)

Hubby told me hes always wanted to go to Lake Mungo, which was news to me, so thats what Im planning and May has a lunar eclipse so figured why not because, "(Go west) Life is peaceful there, (Go west) in the open air, (Go west) where the skies are blue, (Go west) this is what we're gonna do!"

So after I looked up Lake Mungo on the map Im thinking we drive from Sydney to Balranald (accommodation) via Parkes (to see the Dish) but what else should we stop and see on the way? Coming back we might return via Wagga.

Any suggestions and many thanks!

For some weird reason yesterday the Village People popped into my head and I was trying to recall the characters. Thanks to you I now remember them and also can't get the bloody song out of my head

So on the way back what about Griffith. The hospital is the only one I have worked in with the signs in English and Italian.I know you don't do wine but plenty of fruit places and a pleasant town.

Then on to Cowra.A lovely Japanese garden,Australia's Peace Bell,Lake Wyangla and even an Australia-italy Friendship monument.

Then Orange a lovely provincial city with a nice Botanical Garden.Good food and wine.In fact it is where a former International Winemaker of the Year has his winery- Philip Shaw.Mrsdrron and I can't go there as we sat on the same table as him at my Godson's wedding in New Jersey to a lovely Italian American.Mrsdrron distinguished herself by advising him he would sell more wines if he had prettier labels. My godson is a winemaker who started in Philip Shaw's winery.

When I went there in June 2020 a large part of the park was closed. The national park website says that this is still the case. Just in case you weren't already aware.
