The view or two from my "office"

Working on commissioning the first AUUKUS sub today in Holbrook, we have a concrete low cost concept ready to go, now where is the ocean…..View attachment 525155

PS sub Cafe does a mean steak sandwich, forget the bakery!
Apparently, there’s a story that the sub force did a midnight raid to Holbrook to “borrow” a piece to keep one of the remaining O boats operational!

Now, the reason there’s a full length sub there in the first place is quite historical in the grand scheme of things!

Went to Relics at the Canberra Museum and Gallery today. It's an immersive exhibition where vintage objects become homes for intricate miniature worlds (hell yeh!) built from LEGO bricks (copy from the website) created by Lego Masters winners Jackson and Alex. Was great and well worth the vist.

An old Space Invaders machine remade as a Legomspace station.

An old VW became a dystopian Lego view of the chaos that unfolds when oil runs out. There's a couple.of cars on fire and a spot of rioting.

Really is worth it, even for us adults! Mrs Nut and I had a lot of fun finding the cryptic objects in each set. Oh, the Arthur Boyd exhibition is a worth the visit on its own.

MrsK and I have just used the Murray's 'Limo' to get to Sydney for our flight tomorrow morning. Given the cost difference and very little difference in time of travel is a no brainer for us.
OMG! 🤓 I must have missed you by only a couple of hours then. I was on a Murrays to SYD today. Now onboard UL607, waiting to depart SYD.

We left at noon, so probably an hour later than you. We were plane spotting from the bar and saw the UL flight pull in. I guess that's what your heading out on.

Each trip to Thailand we try to do something for the village. This time around we did a few things.

We took 1 mobility walker with us from Australia and bought another 4 mobility walkers in Chiang Mai and 5 lucky locals from 73 years old - 87 years old were the worthy recipients.

The one from Australia was the first one chosen.

The head monk in the village died recently and last week the 100 day memorial was held where people from around the area gathered with many pledging to provide food.

As my dad passed away less than 12 months ago we decided that we would also provide food to honour the monk and my dad. We paid for 200 meals of pork, sticky rice, vegetables and desert to be provided.

There were more than 500 people present and we were allocated a stand. After the service the monks would bless the food and in that time people walk around to see what's on offer. Most had chosen our stand.

Note we had never been involved in anything like this previously and I'm not exaggerating when I say that our 200 meals were distributed in less than 2 minutes. I didn't have time to take proper photos as everything happened so quickly. Lots missed out and they looked disappointed. Next time we come across similar we will provide more meals but we will hold back some of the meals to give more people a chance.

I'm sorry to hear about your father, John. I'm sure you made him a very proud dad.
