Townsville office

I did 2 6 months locums in Townsville and stayed very close to that sign. The area was very nice and I often walked into the city. A long walk but interesting.

View from my office at Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel. Nowhere near the city, of course. Lovely staff but very basic hotel with small rooms and no amenities. However, the restaurant/bar has a canal-side outdoor area, and the view from my 10th floor room is rather nice. (Probably new high rise apartment buildings will grow on the vacant land.)

There’s just the perimeter fence and a roundabout separating the runway and town centre.

Did you see the tree climbing goats?

No we didn’t. We heard about them though. They chew the Argan pods. Never realised Argan oil came only from Morocco. We visited an Argan coop and purchased some products.
