The view or two from my "office"

We have the Qantas Club a miss as it was more comfortable out in the airport.
… as usual.

At BNE - do they really need 4 ushers or guards to guide people the ?15m between the air bridge stairs and aircraft stairs? Is there a history of ‘runners’ at this airport, or of people unsure what the big aircraft with stairs right in front of them is for?

Son did a stint with Swissport, part of which was marshalling. Suffice to say he said people are dumb and can't follow basic directions, he's has had to pull people up. Sadly, they wouldn't be there without a reason.

Some habits die hard. To be fair I’ve heard Bombay as much as Mumbai among Maharashtrans.. All suburbs still seem to use the established names, and major landmarks which have been officially renamed are referred to interchangeably (eg VT). Just ease I reckon - no offence intended when using old/new/old/official/local(!!) names. On my part at least 😃

I was just being a pedant :)

My experience in India was locals were more likely to call it Mumbai. Yet Bengaluru was very commonly still referred to as Bangalore.

I reckon more people say Saigon than Ho Chi Minh City so not uncommon elsewhere to refer to historical name.
