Reccomend you have lunch at Chez Christine in Hotel Donjon at the top of the town. Maybe try the Cassoulet de Carcassonne if they have it on!

Road tripping from AKL,
Hot Water beach office. Crazy how it’s 10c and boiling hot water thru the sand.
Forgot the shovel to dig our own spa.

After a hot trek up the hill - it reached 34C today -we explored Carcassonne Castle today.

We are staying for another three nights. In a little while we are going for a walk to see it at night - from down below. Our intention is to go uphill late in the day tomorrow or Thursday. Knees and backs need a rest. Those 35 towers on the ramparts with their up and downs take their toll

In the end we couldn't resist and made it up to the foot of the outer ramparts.



But we were lucky enough to see the moon rise over the castle on the way down.

Brother and SIL are currently there too. Did the ramparts walk. It is rugged and they are pretty fit.
