The view from my "office"

That’s why Summer is great time to exit these shores ... no crowds, pretty decent weather in most places, and most importantly of all - you leave whilst all the pasty white Mexicans have rather rudely ruin your local lifestyle:)

So my second night it was off to the sister in law's place in a small town in West Cork not far from Bantry.

Open crab sandwich on Irish brown bread and seafood chowder in a quaint little pub in Bantry.

Then this morning a full Irish breakfast using Irish white and black pudding, Irish pork sausages, Irish pork bacon... you get the gist! Oh, the eggs were from the chickens on her property. Home made Irish brown soda bread too ;) Too much food, I get the feeling she's trying to fatten me up!

The view from the breakfast table... a balmy 11 degrees (beats the 0 degrees that it was in London at the same time!).

And finally the chickens on the right and on the left the cattery she's building... fighting for council approval though even though everything had been done by the book and to spec!

Ooooh, soda bread. Not something that you see much down here

I used to love soda bread when I was back packing around Ireland. Cooked breakfast and steal some soda bread and make marmalade sandwiches for lunch (or afternoon tea). I've tried to reproduce it but just can't do it here
