The view from my "office"

Did two baby walks at Cradle Mountain this morning because of waterfalls so for those with young kids or those with dodgy knees, these are for you

Enchanted Walk is super easy, 30min, mostly flat with only a few stairs and is stroller friendly. Lots of wombat holes but couldn't see them. It starts at the entrance to the park at Pencil Pines Cascades (refer first waterfall photo above).

Watch out for all critters

Something to keep the under 4ft critters interested

Then 30mtrs back to the Interpretation Centre and a 2min walk to the Pencil Pines Falls (refer 2nd waterfall photo above).

And some flowers to finish off this morning

Wow they have done a lot to the Park since I was there ... 20 years ago .

I went looking for some hard copy pics I took then ( including a walk to the top of Mt Dove :)) but couldn't find them. Will keep looking.

But I did find this, the view of my overnight office from my time working in the NT ( And specifically looking at @JohnM and others who purport to disclaim my current desire for comfy hotels :)). I can't recall the significance of the Surf box, as it was one of our temporary camps. Why in the open and not under a tree? Think fruit bats!

I'm afraid you are correct! This is a 4 year old 787. The control seems a not very well designed item. I think it's not quite intuitive enough and slow to change. Hence a LOT of finger pushing by pax!
What I noticed and was mildly annoyed by, was that the windows don't go dark enough. In full sun, the glare and heat still invades at the darkest setting. I'm guessing that many people keep pushing harder in a forlorn hope that it may darken a bit more!

That would have been a great view to have some slow speed shutter settings happening with the water.
I have a setting in my phone called "silky water" which I'm keen to try. Just haven't found the spot to give it a try yet (OK more truthfully, I forget to try it).

That photo in the reddit thread is a stunner. This is what I want to do in Alaska.

Alright, so on my recent sojourn we ended up stopping at markets in Bregenz (Austria), Ravensburg (Germany) and Konstanz (Germany).

The number of stalls in each progessed as we moved along, so it was 40 stalls, then 100, then 170. Unfortunately the day we arrived in Konstanz the rain started before we woke up and did not let up all day until I got back to ZRH on the plane. We didn't have time to stop in ZRH unfortunately, but we did drive past some in a little town just outside ZRH and they looked nice. Liechtenstein (well Vaduz, anyway - which is the capital) didn't have any this year, only an ice skating rink.

The thing I found interesting about these ones being in non-mainstream tourist areas is they were more so artisan goods, rather than the stalls and stalls of baubles you see in the really mainstream tourist markets. Pretty cool.

We timed things perfectly for arrival in Ravensburg, driving in just as darkness hit - the market really lit up and the crowds started to get busier and busier. There was a building that was turned into a large advent calendar (it had 24 painted window openings) too, each day there was a big ceremony to unveil the window - we were there to see 20 open up.

Finally for this trip, Konstanz - as I mentioned we were rained out so unfortunately this was just a quick stop for some quick photos, we didn't have anything to eat or drink as we'd just eaten a very large meal at Landgasthof Hindelwanger Adler. We only visited the markets on the water side (Weihnachtsmarkt Am See) but there was another set a few minutes walk down the road. Our umbrella wasn't offering much protection and we were soaked through! This one did by far have the widest range of goods, though!

@VPS, you will pleased to know that's not quite it yet... assuming we have no delays flying into ORD tomorrow we will be able to goto the Christkindlmarket for an hour or two before it closes - tomorrow is the last day it is open.

Is Surf a variation on the OMO/FAB messaging service? ;)
