The view from my "office"

Being unemployed these days (or "taking a Sabbatical" if you like to be cool) I have no formal office. But I am still busy:

This is a house I have in Tin Can Bay - we have used it as a weekender for years, but am tarting it up to rent out in the interests of financial survival. Next task is those 14 internal doors to paint - aaaarrggghhh! But what I pity are my neighbours - almost all of Tin Can is retirees - the place is somewhere you can hear a pin drop after 5pm. And me now doing marathon work sessions may upset them. I tend to play music as I paint and clean - not hugely loud, but in this place everyone can hear. So now they have just had a full day of Arabic rock music, and the next south american "Reggaeton" - sort of a more modern and suggestive version of reggae. If I keep this up much longer no doubt someone will call a terrorist hotline....

Anyway, this has been my recent "office" :)

Hmmm - I face a steep learning curve... o_O:eek::):D.
Yes and no - these are just what did it for me on the day. I am a complete all-rounder with music. I actually prefer quiet (sans music) if talking to someone. The only music I don't really get is Jazz. But maybe I have to learn.

From my Melbourne restaurant office tonight.

My extended family live in the Gympie area. They have holiday homes in Rainbow beach. However in the early days we did stay in Tin Can Bay. I remember putting out crab pots at night and eating warm crab for breakfast. But I also remember the mozzies at dusk!!

Just for your listening pleasure, two examples of the music in "my office' :

The Arabic tune is an easy listening take on tradition, but the 2nd one is pretty edgy stuff. I'd reckon Reggae description for the second is a bit of a stretch. Underlying techno with a rap backbeat and a Reggae twist and a slight touch of retro Punk visuals. I like it.

I don't however, like the task looking at you. I despise painting and painting doors is the worst! Good luck!

Its usually called reggaeton, quite popular, no extremely popular in Latin America. Daddy Yankee is about as big as they get in the reggaeton world. He's from Puerto Rico. Maluma is another, from Colombia. It's unfortunately filled with music videos very, very similar to American Rap
