The view from my "office"

Sounds like a story on which elaboration may be in order. Where is it? Is it a renovated prison? ... and what's with all the dead grass around the pool? Seems like their grounds staff have been enjoying too many of those bent ales! :D

It's on Rugen, Prora: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prora "Strength Through Joy" project. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_Through_Joy

Quite an interesting story, the part we are staying in has been turned into a hotel, you can still see the original marks in the concrete from the formwork on the ceiling, another part is a Youth Hostel, a Museum with attached art gallery and a DDR museum.
We didn't intend staying here, I thought it was still in ruins, although I did want to see the buildings, or what was left of them. The room is more like an apartment, a week here would be very refreshing!

My wife trying to get me jealous of her view (well from her bosses window) from George Street across to Convention Centre and Southbank Parklands this afternoon.

Guess I'll be picking up the kids from after school care so she can work late (assuming she's working)...

On the popular sunset photos here's one from last night in our suburb- had to stop to drink in the spectacular view that changed as the sun dipped below the horizon

The things I have managed to forget in the space of 1 year.....

Getting firewood is not enjoyable in the dark and on your own.
Take your office shoes off before going out into the paddocks.
Check inflation of wheelbarrow tyre before you overload it with wood.
You had all summer to collect kindling - don't cough now that you have to do it in the dark.
Enjoy the fire.... once you get it going.
