The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Perfect yesterday...... absolutely p*ss*ng down today.
After posting the "sunny" photo (from the free wifi at the ranger/bus station), I thought I'd drive up to have a look at Dove Lake in the evening rain as a contrast to the previous day.

Rain varying in intensity from misty gentle to drenching horizontal rain.

I drove back to our cabin, passing this interestingly modified HiLux parked outside our cabin. Wonder why they have that thing here?

Of course, we drove up to Dove Lake and this time walked around to the boathouse (the same one I photographed from the other side of the lake 2 days ago):

A beautiful dusting of the finest dry powder snow covered the landscape (and I could almost see Cradle Mountain!):

The lady at the Ranger Station had advised us when we arrived two days ago in clear weather "go up to see Cradle Mountain straight away today while you can...... you can only see it for an average of 30 days a year and you won't see it again for the next few days." How right she was. But the snow made up for the lack of mountain, don't you agree?

Thank you. According to the car's thermometer, it was -2°C. (I loved the way the car turned on the heated steering wheel and seats automatically when we jumped back into the car - it's never been in such low temperatures before!)

Stunning photos even though a bit chilly by the sound of it. Much wind around? If not, then it can be quite pleasant but wind makes it bitter.

InAccuweather / Google weather said "Real Feel" was -8°C. The wind was very chilly with snow coming at us horizontally.

It was a bit brighter last week for my QF office SYD-MCY a week ago.

Go in February and say hello to the March Flys, would prefer the inundation as opposed to these buggers :)
