anyone planning to go to Vancouver, have a look at the historical seismicity map. There is a nice gap right where Vancouver is. Statistically speaking it’s a bit of a sitting duck.

I meant all of western Canada, but I need to walk that back a bit.

This shows Pacific rim seismicity - all events for US (down to tiny tremors, ones that aren't felt) but only >4 for everywhere else. People can usually feel events >3. There are many small events off western Canada. So, it still holds that there is a gap in large events off western Canada.

There is another way to reinforce the stomach

Its all about immunising against Bali Belly. You can do it the natural way - ie get Bali Belly enough that you become immune

Or get This (but does not cover all the causes of Bali Belly). Especially recommended if you have IBS, inflammatory bowel disease or diabetes.

I agree. Always look on the positive side. With Bali Belly, there’s no worry about gaining weight from eating the yummy food. Easy come, easy go

Also charcoal tablets as they seem to soak up stuff. There used to be a clay based substance, Kaolin I think it was, haven’t seen it for years though.

Good grief. Hadn't heard of that remedy, but know kaolinite well. So you are eating clay. End up shi$$ing bricks, then?

Limited experience only, but in my resort, out in the country a bit (where things may slip through more than big hotels in the city), I had no hesitation in eating and drinking anything put in front of me. Water was provided via refillable stop-top bottles, which I was a bit hesitant about, but turned out no problem too.

In my experience , most food options are fine in Bali, inside and outside of the hotel/resort. however water is always something to be careful with. bottled water only , that said I find beer (unopened or opened in front of me a safe bet)

The Grosvenor was due to close permanently in 2021 but then Covid hit and now pushed back to a closure in 2025. Requires too much expenditure so is being closed. Restaurant closed during Covid and won’t reopen so if you are looking at some cheap accommodation in the CBD over the next year or so I think you will see some very cheap rates
