I'm pretty new here and interested to hear experienced thoughts...

With 4 months left I'm 225 SCs from Gold and wondering if it's worth trying to get there or do I just be content with yet another year of Silver. (A little more content with that assuming I now won't lose all those surplus points when my Qantas year ticks over.... ).

I'm based in Darwin so have fewer flight options but I'm wondering if something like a SGP trip via another domestic capital would be one reasonably cost effective strategy.

Also curious if people think there might be another double status credit offer soon or definitely no?

I travel to DRW from ADL 6-8 times a year to see my parents so my views are from that. Outside of sales and DSC the best I can find is usually $10 per SC.

Whilst I haven’t looked at to or from SIN the cheapest I can think of for 225 SC would probably be something like:
DRW-ASP-ADL. If you booked a few months in advance you can usually get it for $1,165 for 120 SC. So not amazing, but about as good as it gets from Darwin.
DRW-CNS-BNE is usually around $1,172 so basically the same if you’d rather end up in Brissy.

Of course if a double SC promotion comes you’d only need to do that one way and then Jetstar the other direction to save some money.

I'm hoping I'll have 20-60 SCs in November from work travel but that's uncertain.

If you were able to get, atleast, 25 SC from work then potentially you could do something like DRW-ADL-ASP-DRW. That would get you 200 of the SC and work could cover the rest and that would be about $2k. If you need to do it over the weekend your likely have to spend the night in Adelaide but if you have a weekday free you could get it done in one day. For the same price.

I think would be difficult to earn the number of SC needed for less than the cost of a QC membership. If you only fly Qantas (especially domestic) I think that would be the more sensible option.

I agree with the other poster though that it’s gonna be pretty difficult to get those SC for less the then a few years of QC membership cost.

Would not be surprised if there’s another one in the next month or two, but it only happens some years. If loads is less than they want they are more likely to offer another DSC this year to try to get additional bookings.

If they do I don't think it would be a repeat of the usual open-to-everyone-on-any-route March offer.
More likely to be restricted or offered on a different basis, such as the previous QBR DSC offer.
