FB Al were the aircraft doing pylon racing like they do at the Reno Air Races?

I must dig out my Reno pics from 1994. Can't believe that was over twenty years ago now. I also went to Skyrace Tasmania in LST plus the launch of the Boeing 777 in SEA so 'twas a great year for aviation.

Might need some more appropriately shaped wings first...

Ha ha - love it, mate!

Something else for you, John.

As far as I know the AT 802 is the largest single engine aircraft in production (MTOW 7257kg), with a payload of 3000L or just over 4000kg.

Used as an aerial spray rig (crop duster) or for water bombing during bushfires. The blokes that fly these all have a few screws loose, I've had a couple of the pilots tell me that you're not a real AirTractor pilot unless you've put at least a couple down in a paddock... very reassuring.

I always do love the name 'Air tractor' :). Beats a Toorak tractor any day .

Hi Oz.
No pylon flying other than the red Oracle aerobatic jobby who cut 3 ribbons on the runway. The first with his left wing, the second with his right wing, then upside down with his rudder!!!!! The ribbons would have been 40 to 50 feet about the runway. All the warbirds were flying varying circuits with up to 18 in the air at any one time.

So I count 57 pics there. Ok, you spotters, who is going to be the first to name all of the aircraft in all 57 of the pics?

IIRC, from my only time gliding (now that is something different :)), they make a great glider tug. Maybe that's where the tractor label came from?

I took this photo, from my iPhone, a couple of weeks ago from a perimeter fence at Victorville. Former OGL (still has GL on the tail), now registered as N326BC.

This really broke up the monotony of recent plane spotting; in BKK last night a Rossiya Il96-300, which was most likely a chartered flight. Really like the different style, but picked it up because the tail was the way the tail was more inclined than an Airbus or Boeing il 96 3.jpgil96 1.jpgil96 2.jpg
