Took a 2011 Pegasus Bay Prima Donna Pinot Noir to lunch today at our local Italian Bistro - an absolute gem. I didn't think to take a photo so here's one of a 2010 that we have and will take next time.

Thanks qaz, this one's a cracker. I opened a bottle tonight. It's a deeply satisfying pinot. Ripe strawberry, red cherry, rose hip and potpourri mingle over a background of cured meats delivering a sensory delight. The wine is delicate but detailed, richly layered, supple and silky. The tannins are ripe and ultra-fine, with a touch of vanillan oak. Light bodied but with good balance and structure. With a long lingering finish. Beautiful. A 93 on CT from me.

2015 is shaping up to be a top vintage for Victorian pinot noir, with some good value wines rated 95 points by The Wine Front, including:

d’Or to Door has Lowburn Ferry Home Block Pinot Noir 2014 for $39 ($45 @ Langton's), which has received good reviews, including 95pts from Bob Campbell for the previous two vintages, and is highly rated by a few people on Vivino (3.9-4.7)
just been ranked Number One in high profile Decanter magazine in the UK. The in-depth tasting of more than 170 pinot noirs from across New Zealand in Decanter’s September 2016 issue was carried out by a panel of three prominent UK industry wine judges. Lowburn Ferry Home Block Pinot Noir 2014 scored 96 points out of a possible 100, giving it “Outstanding” status in the tasting. Lowburn Ferry’s Home Block Pinot Noir 2014 “shone” for one of the panel - Phillip Tuck, MW. “A mightily impressive and complex Pinot in an admirably understated, fresh and cool-climate style…Generous without being rich, and stylish without being showy,” he said. “Truly beautiful” was how he summed up his tasting notes.

Yes. Usually key to getting good pricing from DM is to stack the 5% Wish discount with the 7% CR rebate

Small print on the offer on CR states

  • Cashback cannot be earned if a gift card is used or the order is not completed online.
Wondering if the cash reward + Wish Card Cash back isnt available as a result of them hiking the cash back - Has this ever happened in the past. Potentially very cunning.

The wording has always been like that yet CR never declined in the multiple years the DM deals thread has been running. Your question has been brought up before, and the answer has always been that you can combine the two.

Thanks it worked, and they also made a mistake and calculated that my order was worth almost twice as much. I'm sure the moderators at CR will pick that up when it comes to actually releasing my cash rewards...

This looks tempting, about $10/bottle for "Pee-No Nwah" after all the discounting - Amex $20, CPANEW $50, CR 8%.

Few too many doubts for me in that mix although the Heirloom and Dorrien are probably safe bets. If Cellarmasters are already selling this lot at under $20 a bottle its likely that at least two of these wines are duds, although I may be wrong.
