The perfect excuse to end HKG flights?

So yesterday’s delayed flights from HKG departed today.
The flights scheduled today to HKG were able to land.
Today’s scheduled flights from HKG are delayed until tomorrow as HKG is closed AGAIN.
Interesting if they send 2 aircraft back up to HKG tomorrow.

It seems to work, essentially they haven’t cancelled a flight yet just delayed. Better than QF who have 4 aircraft on the ground with no plan to do something similar.

So with everyone who landed on VA83 earlier today, is it just an overnight wait at the gate/lounge (I assume not open) or are people being sent out to hotels for the night?

Hmmm pretty sure all 4 got away last night perhaps check again....

All 4 QF flights managed to depart from HKG last night (with various delays) so VA has two aircraft stuck in HKG overnight.

You'd have to think this route has gone from bleeding to an absolute geyser of blood now with all the HKG disruptions and low load factors.

I wonder how much longer VA will hold out here...

Fair comment, but as someone else reminded me, VA have recently signed that agreement with 'the other Virgin', VS.

Joyce at QF admitted demand had decreased which may also be an understatement. Leisure travellers must be avoiding the place in droves, business travel has to be down and individuals with a choice as to where they transit may also (illogically) be avoiding HKG.

Looks like there was no SYD - HKG rotation today (10 September). Also none on 12th and 13th September which all seem to be planned.

Also looks like there is no MEL - HKG rotation tomorrow (11 September).
