Have OJA parked at Gate 24 at present and I have to say she is looking tired, have not seen a plane before where the dirt highlights the panels!

Or LRE, pretty historic aircraft.

I don't think they have the space for that, and the next thing they want to do out there is construct some sort of enclosure to protect the aircraft already there ;)

It's the 25th anniversary of the first meeting held in Longreach to discuss the idea of creating the memorial this year too.

Pity there isn't some other aircraft museum around the country that could take her... While Longreach might be all very historic, is it out the back of whoop whoop or where in Quueensland??? Somewhere a bit closer and accesable would be nice...

How about HARS in Wollongong ;)

Besides, LRE is just on 15SC one way, which makes it a very attractive flight in sales, while most regional routes only earn 10SC.

They could retire her in CBR, the city which the plane is named after.

It might give CBR a third tourist attraction :p

Yes i was thinking more of a captial city ala Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, G for George etc at the War Memorial is pretty impressive...

Short of that, the 747 they turned into a hostel at Stockholm airport was pretty impressive when i stayed there.. :)

Sorry, MHV. My bad.

Still would have liked to have seen these end up int he proposed ASP "graveyard" but never going to happen.

Whilst CBR is now short one tourist attraction (I moved to MEL and can fade into anonymity ) I wonder what you consider to be the two tourist attractions there?

As much as I am glad to be in MEL there are lots of tourist attractions in CBR.
