Would I be right in assuming SIN to HND wait-list J for Feb has no chance of clearing in the next month or so? I have no status. It was at saver level

Near zero. You might have better luck flying into Fukuoka or Osaka or even Narita but not by much.

2. Could it make sense to waitlist aggressively J savers (Date/departure port) before securing an advantage booking? Or is it hopeless for 3 pax.
3. Final destination is in fact CBR. Is adding segments to an award booking a thing with SQ?

I was waitlisted for 2 x J savers SIN-WSI for early next year..

I've been checking for seats daily, multiple times a day, and then 4 x savers popped up SIN-WSI so booked them and cancelled my waitlist.

Not the best use of points, but when a paid Y seat is $1700 ONE way it's good value

I want to change date, origin, destination and cabin.
Currently booked J saver HKG-xSIN-MEL. Want to change to F saver LHR-SIN, different date.
I can't do it online (says I need to call).
The miles used for the original J saver will not be expiring before the new flight is taken - so no issue with expiring miles.

Is it correct that if I do the above, the total change fee is USD $25, independent of miles and taxes difference?

Sorry not recent but i've done similar (biz to biz though) in the last 10 years and was $25 as it was a change not a cancel. Had to do it over the phone from memory. Nearly found trouble as the points table increased so i had to top it up. Had to buy from Velocity and transfer.

I thought you cannot change origin - would need to cancel and rebook (if your points aren't notionally expired). That's what I'd noticed so was locked into a CGK departure - didn't phone up to work around this though

This was my experience last month. Was unable to adjust the origin of a booking, was told to cancel and had to pay the points ‘re-deposit’ fee.

Interesting data point - was waitlisted for three Tokyo flights. Went in to see how many advantage left and one saver was available to book. Also had not been receiving you are still on the waitlist emails either for the 3 flights I had on waitlist

Ive got a return flight awards saver in J from melb to sth korea in march next year.
Unfortunately something family has come up and I have to move flights fwd by 2 days.
Availability is access or advantage if i move it fwd by a week or so, and pay the much higher rates, ive only got 50k points left

Am I totally out of options?

I’m afraid so more or less - the huge disadvantage with (SQ) award tickets is if you want to do a date change, you are at the mercy of award availability as of today. This effectively negates the whole point of redeeming for business class saver as it requires you to book a year+- in advance as dates quickly sell out on popular routes.

If the points rates of your new dates don’t tickle your fancy, another option could be to cancel the award ticket for a points refund and pay cash (and save the points for another time) for the ticket. However cancelling an award ticket comes with a $75 USD penalty fee.

If continuing with your existing booking is an option I’d go with that personally.

The pando and ME appear to relegate them to stories we will tell our grand children.
I am not interested in reward bookings — family is O/S — and we don’t have lots of flexibility for much of our travel dates.

According to Vantage03 the answer is Yes!.

My understanding from hearing other PPS member experiences is that they regularly clear for PPS members.
As an ex-silver / blue KF member (as I almost always fly SQ on points), Fist Class / Suites savers *sometimes* open.
If you are departing Australia, it's the Australian SQ office which has to open the seats for you - not the call centre. This is probably different for PPS members though.
It also appears to have nothing to do with loadings, as I recently had 2x Suites seats open for me SYD-SIN on a flight that had 75% First class full (the most I've ever seen on an SQ A380 First).
Then, the next leg I wanted (SIN-FRA A380) the cabin literally had 1 seat booked according to Expert Flyer (confirmed by check-in girl in SYD) and even at T-12 hours they wouldn't open it up for me.

This needs to be amended. There is no local Network Revenue Management for SIA. It’s all based in Singapore, so appealing to your local SIA office is no longer relevant.
