What would be a good plan B?

I was looking at Cathay but can't see anything (not even 1 seat) after 1st Jan

Good Plan B would be willingness to pay for revenue seats, willingness to cancel your trip, or willingness to split your group to fly on two (or more) separate flights. Your waitlist will almost certainly not clear.

looking to book return flight for 2, Melb to Singapore in Jan 27

as usual do my search one way for 1 person technique, then 2 ppl,

both 1 person and 2 person one way is showing availablity saver J One way, and Adv J way back,

try and book in the one x 2-way booking, the return flight says from 103k, but all the saver ones shown are waitlisted

call to get it done via phone, get told they are busy and expect a call back within 6 hours

go back to check and both legs available if one way chosen

Hi all I am rather new to the Waitlist so would really appreciate some help
I have a tripped planned with my son to go to Singapore F! in October from Adelaide
I have booked in J with Virgin from Ade to Sin there and best I could do was get a P Economy
from Sin to Melbourne and then get a domestic flight back to Adelaide on the Monday the 12th October
what are the chances I would get a waitlist in J back to Ade from Sin I dont mind if it was from the 12th until the 14th of Oct. or would I have a better chance having the waitlist clear if it was to Mel or Syd


any advice on the best action to take would be appreciated as I am unfamiliar with the use of waitlist

Whats the chances of x2 F (Advantage) seats clearing when there are 5 seats available on the flight in July 26 (SIN-MEL)?

[J redemption on SQ] Wonder if there is no Saver on first release, only Standard and Access, would SQ then add Saver J later on or not? If yes, is that a regular event or totally unpredictable? Would help to decide on a 40K points difference between Saver & Standard. Thanks.

Another data point I have is I signed up on waitlist for an October SQ306 SIN-LHR on J saver, at the start of this year.

Why? As was speculated back then this was going to be the inaugural route and flight for the new J product and I felt like having a go at getting an award seat.

Couple of weeks ago the fateful news dropped that new J product has been delayed to 2027, so no chance of SQ306 in October having the new product anymore. And voila what do you know only a few days later an email from SQ - your waitlisted flight is available for confirmation
