What would be a good plan B?

I was looking at Cathay but can't see anything (not even 1 seat) after 1st Jan

Good Plan B would be willingness to pay for revenue seats, willingness to cancel your trip, or willingness to split your group to fly on two (or more) separate flights. Your waitlist will almost certainly not clear.

looking to book return flight for 2, Melb to Singapore in Jan 27

as usual do my search one way for 1 person technique, then 2 ppl,

both 1 person and 2 person one way is showing availablity saver J One way, and Adv J way back,

try and book in the one x 2-way booking, the return flight says from 103k, but all the saver ones shown are waitlisted

call to get it done via phone, get told they are busy and expect a call back within 6 hours

go back to check and both legs available if one way chosen
