I have investigated a space big enough for a group such as ours, and I am thinking of a deluxe villa at the Longreach Caravan Park. They are two bedroom and are $150/night. If I go with that option, there will be a spare bedroom with two single beds - anyone interested in sharing?

Gosh that was quick. Someone has already asked for the second room in the cabin that I haven't booked yet.

For those that missed out on the last sale, flights to LRE are once again on sale... although availability on the Friday and Sunday is understandably less than it once was, so to get the best prices you'll have to arrive earlier and leave later. There's also the possibility of arriving on the Saturday.

After discussions with samh004 I am confirming my attendance as platinum for this Do.

My plan at this stage is to fly form HBA to OOL on the Thursday and then travel to BNE for the flight to LRE on the Friday and pretty much the same in reverse on Friday. Had a quick look at accommodation but it shouldn't be a hard choice . Will most likely end up booking some sort of multiple bedroom cabin etc and am happy to offer any extra rooms to others.

I just received a (dreaded?) email notification from QF Customer Services that "Your flight has changed". I looked at the details of the "Old Flight" and the "New Flight" set out in the email but they were both the same. Wonder what has changed?

Same here, flights are identical as well.

I've just checked the original e-ticket and STD has been brought forward from 7:55 to 7:50 (STA remains unchanged) so it looks like the old and new flight details on the email notification may be displaying the wrong fields (both showing as the new STD).

I've booked a Deluxe Outback Lodge at Kinnon & Co for the Friday and Saturday nights at $150 per night. It has two bedrooms; one has a queen bed and the other has two single beds. I am looking to share if anyone is interested. I'm happy to take one of the single beds or the queen.
