Changeover happening Saturday 18 August, which has now been confirmed by Marriott.

Reported on OMAAT: "Marriott has just announced that they’ll be forming a unified loyalty program as of Saturday, August 18, 2018. The Saturday transition makes sense, as it will minimize the impact it has on members."

Fantastic! My stay will be In the last week of August.

Does anyone have experience with last minute award bookings in NYC? I’m looking at the St Regis. I see availability right now however will this still be around a week before or should I book something else with a view to switching if possible later on? Realise that this is not an exact science.

I'm not too sure, but if you do stay at the St Regis, report back on what it was like as I think that is what we will most likely book next year while in the lower point category!
