The Flightradar24 appreciation thread

Departure out of BNE scheduled at 15:30 today instead
Enroute to Sydney and then I saw this, and thought 'uh-oh', but there appears to be congestion at SYD so a few loops being completed everywhere.

An interesting thing a couple of days ago when waiting for and then having boarded a QR 787 at DOH.

There was apparently a Eurofighter Typhoon moving around the gate area at Hamad International. I’d been watching it on FR24 but couldn’t see anything out the window. Likely an ops vehicle that someone with a sense of humour had programmed.

I checked earlier this morning when considering writing this post and DOH looked normal with just usual RPT jets everywhere. However, I’ve just gone back to FR24 for another look and can see both of these:

MAINT3 - so yes a maintenance vehicle.

Highly likely not an F-15 being taxied around toward the off-terminal bus gates apron.

Qatari humour!

Attention plane spotters, tomorrow 15 Jan, Cathay Pacific will launch its retro jet onto CX153/CX150.

Let's hope we can spot QF Retroroo and CX Reto Jet together!

On FR24, is there any way to know which variant of the 350 SQ has assigned to a flight? SQ designated them as Medium Haul, LH or ULH but how to tell them apart. They all seem to be 350-941 version.

Rego:
9V-SH* = medium haul
9V-SJ* and 9V-SM* = long haul
9V-SG* = ULH

Cannot see it on FR24 but can on tar1090. By the looks of it we have another MRTT headed overseas, this one I suspect will be supporting some F35 aircraft coming back from Red Flag @ Nellis. Interestingly not flying under the usual Aussie call sign.

A39-003 is the MRTT involved, it’s probably going to support the Wedgetail also coming back from Nellis, which would be interesting to see mid air.
