The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

I can also see my LTG status on the digital card now but the attain date shown is (wildly) incorrect. 😅 I suspect it may have been the date I attained LTS.

On Android it's never shown a date. It just shows "GOLD ... Lifetime membership"

I wonder if your date change is the logic that you achieved lifetime status at the silver level at that point, and now you're at the Gold level but still lifetime?

Looks like they’ve finally fixed an annoying bug after several years. When I used to do an “activity” view by “Member year”, it would display transaction from a date in the last month of the previous member year onwards.

For me, it was something like from 12 July (member year runs from 01 Aug). I can only assume that date is when I original signed up to QFF but is otherwise invisible ever since?

It used to work fine for ages and then broke around 2018/19 from memory.

Not a gripe (yet). Just received a flight change notification email for our SEA-LAX flight in January. Not leaving 6 hours earlier which will not suit at all. When I go to the manage booking section I get the following options:

Clicking change doesn’t bring up any other options even though there are several other award options available when I search.

Does anyone happen to know whether the website has been programmed to waive the cancellation fee under these circumstances or is it going to charge me 6,000pts per PAX? Would prefer not to have to deal with the call centre to ensure the fee is waived.

From memory clicking on (cancel / voucher) should bring an other screen before confirming the cancellation, where things may be explained in better detailed, including hopefully some information about fee waive. Let us know.

That’s my recollection.

I always grimace when there’s something like that and you don’t know or don’t recall if there’s an “Are you sure?” Or another step!

There was something that came up basically saying the fee would be waived but any further changes will incur it. No points credited back as yet but will see whether I am actually charged or not.

The new Qantas Points calculator is generally good, but it's missing some of Qantas' own routes! In fact it's missing QF1, their flagship route!

You're telling me Qantas offers First Class from SIN to SYD, but not from SYD to SIN?

Had a multi-city CR booking with JL F and BA W on the same ticket. Checked randomly yesterday and it turned out that J was now available for the BA leg on the same day and flight.
Couldn't make the change online for some silly reason and kept throwing errors. Called up today and I think I got thru to HBA, took about 30 min total (including the initial wait) but the friendly staff member got it all sorted with no dramas with payment of the additional taxes and points.

Have a similar situation which I have just seen come up.

Currently have:
SIN-HND - JL Y+
HND-JFK - JL F

I have just noticed the SIN-HND has been changed from 787 to 777 and there’s now an F award available.

Can’t remember with certainty but I’m going to say I may have booked this as a one way rather than multi city. Any guesses whether a similar change can be made?

Managed to get through to Hobart and they were able to make this change. Said they requested JAL to divorce the two existing segments and then added in the SIN-HND in F. So good result. Now F all the way through SIN-JFK.

For months I've been unable to see my trips in the cart. Comes up with an error and says to refresh which does nothing. Customer service had no clue what was going on. Absolute wild one. Screenshot 2024-10-10 at 12.03.07 PM.png

I've been trying to redeem a flight credit and get this message. And it is not because my card doesn't work because I have not even entered the credit card details yet - just the phone numbers. The funny thing is, I just successfully redeemed another credit a few seconds prior to this. I tried different browsers and clearing cookies. One reason could be is that I am 'cheating' the change fee because I am redeeming the credit for a flight of a lesser value than the credit.

thats a bit like when you get a refund for the fees and lose less than the change fee …

In was trying to find a reward flight for next week, and it shows flights available but when I drill down none of the times are reward flights. Something is definitively amiss still. This was using the qantas app.
