The Biltmore Mayfair
Location in Grosvenor Square.
Absolutely superb, can walk to Selfridges, New Bond St and across Hyde Park to Harvey Nicks and Harrods.
The Hotel is decorated in Art Deco style. Beautiful reception area and bars.
For the trivia buffs the Pine Bar here was where Alexander Litvinenko was fatally poisoned in 2006.
Check-in was done by me on-line but unlike many hotels this one doesn’t have digital key.
It was a pretty quick, painless process at the desk and I was shown the restaurant and bar area before being escorted to my room.
My room was a King Grand Deluxe on the top/7th floor. No view to speak of but the room itself was pretty spacious and well equipped. Big desk, sofa and table. Lots of power points.
Full bath and separate rain shower.
Individual AC controls. Bed and bedding super luxe and comfy.
Extensive room service menu inclusive of Arabic menu for Ramadan. Didn’t try as generally I don’t do Room Service.
Breakfast is served in the Cafe Biltmore. There is a small Continental buffet and a La carte. You may choose one dish from this menu, there is no charge for barista coffee.
My choice Shakshuka was excellent.
There is no Exec Lounge here but I tried out a Negroni at the Pine Bar.
There were more staff than patrons, and the service from the manager Nerijus was awesome. He made me a complimentary follow up bespoke Negroni with tastings of the spirits.
I stayed here on a standard award rate of 95K points. Rack rate is upwards of £500 so I think the value as a points stay was excellent and I would happily return again.
