Re: The totally off-topic thread

Likely though that tonight's events ensure Bill Shorten becomes Australia's 30th PM.
And if you want morally corrupt-even a former ALP National President on the weekend felt he was Xenophobic and expressing near racist thoughts in his opposition to the China FTA.

But the Liberal Party is now split. Many do not trust Malcolm Turnbull.I knew him 35 years ago though he would never remember me.He stands for one principle only-it's all about Malcolm. He knifed the previous member for Wentworth,he knifed Brendan Nelson and now TA.A leopard doesn't change his spots.

Even though his popularity is higher than TAs he is always more popular with ALP voters than Coalition voters.I have yet to meet an ALP voter who likes Malcolm and would change their vote because of that.
And yes if you really want to know I will not be voting LNP in the next Federal Election.

Turnbull: "The Prime Minister of Australia is not a president. The Prime Minister is the first among equals."

Hooray for staying that, at least here at the beginning. Now it's he going to address the other chestnut, that we in Australia do not vote for PM but vote for a Party?

Nothing like a political thread to show AFFers can be just as nasty and spiteful as anywhere else; as ever, this thread will reflect the character of those posting. Hopefully the mod's comment about "zero tolerance of personal comments" (unqualified) will be upheld (please).

Edit: Thank-you.

I see that not only has Richard Branson thrown his support behind Turnbull, but Abbott's 2 year anniversary was to be this Friday, and because he's fallen short, he now loses his PM pension... haha!

I'm sure car workers, Port Kembla steel workers and South Australian ship builders will be shedding a tear over it.

Not.

Matt

Right so Turnball PM.
He stuffed our internet.
He looks a "YES PRIME MINSTER" instead of noddie Ababbot.
King Turnbull with his BISHOP as Queen!
Will he lead?

The media will (continue to) have a field day tomorrow.

The moderation team will be watching this discussion closely.

Please make sure that comments do not get personal, as there will be zero tolerance.

That's only AFF members, right? Non-AFF members, including politicians, are fair game?

I hope not. I'd hate the families of AFF members (for instance) to be subject to the vile abuse that's been exhibited here already. A perfectly strong political point can be made without abuse and personal denigration.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Better just close this thread ;) I know where political threads will end - a big spill (of opinions).

Well I guess I said my bit. The joyous event has happened; I'm happy to go to the showers now.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Bookies suggesting this was a worthwhile coup.

Coalition hammered 1.80 into 1.40 across all the boards. Significant move such a long way from the election. Especially considering the 1.80 was already pricing in this possibility to some degree.

The Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett has come out tonight with an outburst relating to the spill, IMHO that wasn't required to be aired in the media.

Why any one would personally make abuse and vilification to another human being because they have different views/opinions to oneself is beyond me. We are all entitled to our opinions and indeed entitled to express such, as long as such expression does not slur other people.

I am surprised at some of the such slurring view/opinions expressed here in this thread.

Back to the topic...

Pollies are pollies ... all Turnbull needs to do is get the Senate crossbenchers onside ... pass some legislation and do what they said would do at the last election (try to, senate permitting).

Maybe the polls will square up and the government goes to a double dissolution. I'm sure that'd impress Lambie and Lazarus ... not ...
