I'm taking the Mrs to Auckland early next year for a anniversary getaway, and I was hoping to get a Tesla for the long weekend from Snaprentals for $199/day but sadly they are booked out miles ahead of that date. I've found peer to peer car rental options starting at $350/day which is quite frankly nuts. Does anyone know any other ways to hire a Tesla affordably? I've tried Avis which advertises Tesla rental but they dont have anything available on their website.

Thanks
M

You may find availability opening up soon as a number of Model 3s have just hit the market. I picked mine up the other day and it seems that Tesla have delivered around 20% of them so far to the AU/NZ market with the vast majority to be delivered by end of qtr (ie within the next week). May not help if you had your heart set on a Model S or X, but if a Model 3 would suit you may well be in luck.
