Previously frequent travellers but haven't been anywhere on a plane since September 2019!! We are off to Singapore on Qantas (Y) at the end of July. I know it is too far in advance to know for sure but I wondered what people's experiences have been vis a vis how long in advance to arrive at the airport? I want to prebook a parking spot. I have looked at the airport website and at my booking on the Qantas page but it just says 1 hour for international. As there are only a maximum of 3 flights a day from the International bit of terminal 3 I wondered if we still need to get there 3-4 hours in advance like terminal 1 International?
Any recent personal experiences?
Also, I have never used car park C before, only short term and B. Is there a footpath from carpark C along the road into the terminal? I can't remember but I hope there is as we usually walk. Car park C is a bit cheaper and looks just as close as B.
Thanks for any tips.

There is no way you need to be there 3-4 hours before your flight. Right now the domestic security screening is down to two lanes, so that might cause a bit of a delay. That could easily change between now and September. I think two hours would be more than enough.

I suppose one thing to consider is you'll need to queue for the check-in counter since it's an international flight. I don't think it would be too bad, even in the Y line.

I think it is walkable from C. There is also a courtesy bus which would be less hassle. Keep an eye out for the rates for long term parking in the short term parking area. Sometimes the price difference is minimal.

If it helps I'll be going through PER domestic in mid-August. If I remember I'll give an update on the domestic security screening lane situation then.

Agree with the parking, the earlier you book, particularly in the short term car park.

Monday mornings, 6am to 7.30am. tend to be busy because of the FIFO workers. However it's never taken more than 25min to clear security and that was a one off. I only travel with carry on, so cannot help with the check baggage wait time.

There are 2 security screening points, one at t4 end and one at t3, t3 also has an overflow for an upstairs screening area at peak times.

Have just completed that flight, QF71. We arrived three hours early and were glad we did.

They have a customer service agent checking everyone's documents prior to check-in and this slows things dramatically.

Two hours would be sufficient.

Thank you, exactly what I was after. Recent personal experience. I think I'll book the parking for 3 hours b4. That gives us time to arrive, park and walk to the terminal then queue. Or if it is raining, wait for the bus!

I think that's a great idea. We rocked up at T1 and couldn't find the Qantas queue. Which is embarrassing to admit on AFF!!!! I forgot that things were different than pre-covid where PAC and Qantas were fighting.

Makes sure you have all your documents on your phone or in print - I had my federal COVID pass on my.gov but hadn't downloaded the international vaccine passport - again silly me! It's amazing how stupid one can be after 2+ years of being locked in WA.
