Day 10A
Walked off and made our way towards the newly refurbished T3 Silverkris Lounge. We had been here about 6 weeks earlier on our way back from visiting Mrs NoName’s family in SIN and had really liked it. A definite improvement on the old lounge. Grabbed a shower then sat down for another light breakfast. I mean, why not right? For some reason we didn’t get any photos which is unusual, however I think the lounge has been pretty thoroughly reviewed across a few different threads in the SQ section of the forum.
An hour or so later and it was time to get moving. Our connecting flight to BNE was departing out of T1 which I thought was unusual. Is it? Who knows. Anyway, we had a bit of a walk ahead of us. Decided to skip taking the train and made our way through the terminal.
Relieved to find that our gate was the first one we came to in T1, so essentially right next to the last T3 gate. Went through gate security, milled around for a bit before the boarding announcement came and on we went for the last flight of the trip.

I’d logged on a couple of days prior to find that row 11 was vacant and so I pounced. Proved to be a shrewd move. We were in the long haul version of the A350 again so not as critical as if it were the regional version but still, the additional leg space was a definite winner.
We were away pretty quickly and 45 min or so later the lunch service began. Apologies, no menu photo this time unfortunately. Lets blame it on tiredness at the end of a trip.
Started with some kind of mango and crab salad which it has to be said was pretty average. Did not enjoy this and don’t even think I finished it which is rare for me.
I had ordered a beef burger through Book The Cook for my main. Tasted pretty good as far as plane burgers go however the lack of chips was disappointing. As you can see, there is literally nothing else on the plate.
Mrs NoName had a bowl of prawn noodles which tasted as good as the looked. A winner in her opinion.
Again, she passed on dessert. Again, I didn’t. Only went for the ice cream though this time. No photo however was similar to what was in my previous post.
Wiled away the day watching a movie before I thought I would test out the Super Nintendo Mini again. I had brought this along when travelling to SIN six weeks earlier but the A350 regional seat did not have the required HDMI port so was unable to be used. Good news – the long haul version does have it! So I hooked it up. Like my experience in EK F on the A380, it was very simple to get going. Plugged it in and a message on the screen asked me if I wanted to connect. Clicked ‘yes’ and away I went. While it worked easily enough, there was a noticeable lag time when playing. Not huge, but enough that it effected the gameplay in a negative way. So for the likely zero people who are interested – for playing video game consoles through an in-flight entertainment system – EK > SQ.
With all that out of the way the only thing left to do was relax as the last hour or so of the flight passed. We declined a snack towards the end as I think we were pretty much done with airline food for the moment. Landed on time round 7:30, through all the immigration formalities and quickly out to a cab for the short ride home.
Home sweet home!
And that was that! The trip was over. What a fantastic ten (12) days it had been! While it had been significantly shorter than the 4+ weeks we had enjoyed on the honeymoon 10 years ago, it had been just as memorable. As I mentioned at the start, that trip all those years ago had helped inspire me to play the points game and ultimately to join this forum. Being able to travel in the fashion seen over the last few pages and indeed that we see all over this forum is an outcome I had never dreamed of. What a resource!
