I have now succeeded in changing my July-Aug. SQ J flights MEL-CDG, returning LHR-MEL to a straight MEL-LHR-MEL return in Sept.-Oct.,

Two aspects puzzle me. In addition to the expected change fee and higher cost of flights outside their promotion period, I waa charged an extra AU$70 for "taxes". On the ticket I can see an extra SGD10.30 for GB and SGD2.70 for UB; that's SGD13.00 which surely isn't equivalent to AU$70?

Also the booking class for the return flights has changed from D to U. What is the implication of this?
