On the next trip to Dallas, we have two family members with us, not members of any club. We are Gold and Silver. It seems as though they will need to buy one 30 day pass in order to come into lounges at Dallas and Mexico City.....? Any better suggestions? Thanks.

The post is a little vague, but I believe if you have Gold status with Qantas then you can only bring in one guest. Admirals Club membership can be purchased for anyone not covered, and I believe that Admirals Club members are allowed to bring two guests into the lounge.

I am Gold Qantas and partner is Qantas Club member. If each of us can take one guest into AC, we are covered. If not, our two other family members will need to buy a 30 day pass. I've read the 26 pages of postings on the topic as well as the pointhacks page I was directed to. Clearly there have been recent changes. Any updates appreciated.

Gold and Qantas Club members should get 1 guest each. :)

The recent changes relate only to access to Qantas Club lounges when flying Qantas (and the changes are actually positive).

If for some reason you can't all get in, Admirals Club membership can also be bought on the day when you enter the lounge.

That's what we are hoping for .... And as you say, worst case, buy a pass at the lounge. Thanks.

Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. It means that you are a "full member" with all the perks that brings#, and not just exercising a 'pass' which implies a one-off admission to a lounge.

That's good, thanks for clarifying. With a bit of luck, they won't need to buy it and can be guested in by the two of us.

I've read that several times on the posts .... Membership sounds better than a pass .... Do you mean it is an advantage or a disadvantage??
AA sells a number of ways into the clubs. They have annual memberships for between $400 and $875/year depending on type (new/renew/single/household) and AA status. They have 30 day memberships for $99 each (with $50 discount if you get an annual membership during the 30 day "trial") and one day passes for $50.

Also just to clarify, Admirals Club membership now also grants access to Qantas Clubs in Australia when flying on Qantas (either QF or AA flight number). This changed (again) recently.
