Anyone know if it's possible to take fruit/veg into HKG? Their website doesn't specifically mention it. Have had requests from some friends to take some fruit and veg that we have here - will take it onboard !!

Just hope it doesn't get taken off me when going into HKG ...

I've never had my bag x-rayed or checked in Hong Kong - and have been there many times.

Generally I find them more concerned about meat products (esp. bird type meat).

From what I can see on their website, fruit & veges are not a prohibited import Import/Export Clearance

and it also isn't mentioned as an item you need to visit the "red channel" for.

That said, you should probably ask the HK govt themselves.

I did, emailed them and they referred me to the website.
I will have to reply and say that their website doesn't say :)

You can take nearly anything into HK. You'll be fine, as long as you look Western (and that's not being racist, I've never seen a Westerner stopped, but plenty of mainlanders).
